Discover Sound Adventures at Infocomm 2018

A new partnership with Martin Audio

At this year’s InfoComm Martin Audio will be introducing Sound Adventures™, a 3D immersive sound experience in cooperation with its partner Astro Spatial Audio.

Immersive audio is becoming an important new trend across multiple applications, bringing with it an exciting and differentiated experience for the audience.

“As a result,” says Martin Audio Managing Director, Dom Harter, “there are many solutions now appearing in the market; but we believe that Sound Adventures, which combines our sound quality and dispersion control alongside the absolute 3D sound immersion of Astro Spatial Audio, is unrivalled.

“Martin Audio loudspeakers with Astro Spatial Audio processing is utilising nearly 30 patents to unite the audience in a fully 3D immersive sound field. Moreover, it does so without audible artefacts and provides asolution that is more realistic for the audience. Our coverage patterns, in combination with

Astro Spatial Audio’s algorithms, also enable fewer speakers than competitors to be deployed in order to still achieve an absorbing experience, thereby making the solution available to a wider market. At the other end of the scale, up to 128 speakers can be deployed for the deepest and richest of experiences.

“This state-of-the-art advancement in 3D audio, coupled with our acoustic technology, therefore makes it an ideal solution for performing arts facilities such as theatres, opera houses, concert venues, theme parks, and worship spaces. With the depth of our Dante compatible portfolio it’s also easily deployable.”

The planned demonstration will showcase core experiences including movable sound effects and mixes in real time and in full 3D, electronically shaping the venue with different acoustic properties and extending the stereo image for the audience.

Astro Spatial Audio Managing Director, Bjorn Van Munster, adds: “We are delighted to work with a brand as respected as Martin Audio, bringing our true object-based 3D audio solution to the Sound Adventures experience. Just as Martin Audio focuses on uniting the audience with innovative technology, so Astro Spatial Audio frees the sound designer and engineer with a versatile, powerful set of tools to unleash the creativity in their mix. I can’t wait to experience what we can achieve together at InfoComm and beyond.”

Sound Adventures will be part of the Astro Spatial Audio demonstrations taking place on the even hours at InfoComm in room N112.
